Welcome !

Welcome to BSA Troop 27!

We have served scouts from Kingwood and the surrounding communities for over thirty-five years.

Troop 27 is a boy-led active troop with monthly campouts and activities.

Chartered by Christ the King Lutheran Church, our goals remain to encourage young men in the scouting ways: personal achievement, character development, citizenship, leadership, and fitness.

We meet on Mondays at Christ the King, starting at 7:00 PM in the Youth Building. Any young man between the ages of 11 and 17 is welcome.

We are waiting for you! Join us and be part of the adventure.

Troop Leadership and Kayaking Weekend – San Miguel Park, LA

Posted by herbbri1 on Aug 5 2025 - 11:34pm

Our first camping trip of the school year is less than a month away. We are heading to San Miguel Park at Toledo Bend Lake for a weekend combining water adventure with serious leadership development.

Toledo Bend is one of the largest lakes in the South, with clear open water, miles of shoreline, a sandy beach, and sheltered coves perfect for kayaking, swimming, fishing, and exploring.

We will complete ILST – Introduction to Leadership Skills for Troops, required for NYLT and designed to prepare us to lead with confidence and purpose. This training goes beyond holding a position in the troop. It is about working together, making decisions as a group, and leading in a way that reflects the ideals of Scouting. We will cover leadership roles, communication, and problem solving, then put those skills into action through challenges and team activities.

This is a reminder to sign up now. The trip is the first weekend after Labor Day, September 6 to 8.
